Tabakoshi – Sunakhari Homestay

Tabakoshi is a newly found gem far away from the madding crowd of Mirik and Darjeeling, located just beside Rangbhang River,surrounded by hills and tea gardens. Rangbhang River river added more beauty to this place. Here you can enjoy the freshness of nature along with the chirping sound of lots of Himalayan birds. It is situated within the Gopaldhara Tea Estate. From Mirik at a distance of 5 kilometers at an elevation of about 3000 feet (approx). The winter at Tabakoshi is cool but not chilly and the summer is very soothing.

Here you will find two temples of lord Siva and Bishnu. You also can move every corner of a small hilly village.

Tabakoshi at the lap of luscious green tea gardens really made us lost in the beauty of nature and the brooding majestic hills. Tabakoshi or Tamakoshi is a small hamlet. The place is relatively unknown to the tourists and is quite peaceful unlike the crowd of Mirik or that of Dooars.

How to reach: From Siliguri within a distance of 60 km is Tabakoshi. To reach Tabakoshi it is better to hire cars either from NJP railway station or from Siliguri. Or one can avail the bus service or share car service upto Mirik, and from there by hired jeeps Tabakoshi can be reached.

Best time to visit: Tabakoshi can be visited throughout the year. For bird lovers winter is the best time. The summers are very soothing, a perfect gateway to escape the scorching heat of the city life. Monsoons at Tabakoshi are ethereal. The surroundings become green and fresh.
